Disney post-finally! Day 1

We left Friday afternoon and headed down south to Valdosta where we ate dinner at the Cracker Barrel with Aunt Kara, Uncle Mark, Drew, Natalie and Kate. Gaga and Papaw were heading down later that night. We stayed in a hotel near Valdosta that night, and needless to say, the five of us in one room would most certainly spell disaster. And sure enough, about 2:45am, Renee decided she was done sleeping and wanted to play. So, Jeff and I were both awake trying to figure out how to get her to go back to sleep...unfortunately, putting her back in the pack n play had the opposite effect and she started screaming which of course, woke up Zach and Ava...and to make a long story short, no one went back to sleep. So, that was the start of our Saturday morning!
We had about a four hour drive to Disney World and got to the Magic Kingdom about 11:00. Of course, we had some tired kids already, even though they did take naps in the car. But, we couldn't check into our house until 4pm so we had some time to kill. The kids perked up once we got there and were fine for about an hour or two but it was hot (thankfully, everyday after that was mild) and towards the afternoon, we were ready to get to the house and unpack and rest.

On the tram from the parking lot, Renee somehow had a lot of energy!

Gaga and Papaw with all the grandkids, waiting for the ferry (yes, Ava is in there, look behind Zach)

Ava, Zach, Kate and Natalie on the ferry

The very first thing we did at Magic Kingdom was meet Daisy Duck. The kids LOVED her! (which, if you know Ava, this is a huge step for her because she is deathly afraid of people in costumes...ahh, the magic of Disney!)

While Ava, Mommy and Gaga watched Belle's Storytime in a shady garden (located behind Cinderella's castle), Daddy took Zach to ride the Tomorrowland Speedway cars!

Watch out for that crazy driver!

After that, we went to Toontown to see Mickey and Minnie's houses.

At this point, the kids were starting to crash, they were tired and hot but had about an hour left in them before we had to leave. Here is Gaga and Ava checking out Minnie's place.

Zach trying to take Mickey's keys

After Toontown, Jeff and I stood in line with Zach and Ava to ride Dumbo. It was probably the longest line we would stand in that week (thank goodness!) and we had to hold the kids in line the entire time...we knew after that, it was time to hit the road.
Here is "Miss Bundle of Energy" and the culprit of everyone's exhaustion riding on the monorail. Don't you like her wild, sweaty hair?? Looks like she is saying "why are we leaving? We were just getting started!"

Ava and Zach loved riding on the monorail...it definitely went faster than the ferry ride.

Gaga and Renee on the tram back to our car...it would be nice to get unpacked and into a air-conditioned house where we could relax! Needless to say, EVERYONE went to bed early that night!
