Fun with family

This past weekend, I (Jen) took the kids to Jeff's parents house for their cousin Kate's 5th birthday party. (Jeff couldn't make it because he had flag football playoffs all Saturday).

The kids absolutely love going to see Gaga, Papaw, Aunt Kara and their cousins so it was a special treat for them. Also joining us were Jeff's cousin Jeremy, his wife Heather and their girls, Sarah and Brenna. Ava and Brenna are pretty tight (she is only 8 months older than Ava) and everytime we get together, are pretty much joined at the hip. While we were there, they kept telling each other they were their best friends. :)

We enjoyed pizza at Stevi B's for dinner and then went back home to decorate cupcakes and celebrate Kate turning 5. The kids LOVED decorating their cupcakes and Gaga always has extra sweet treats made whenever family comes over so needless to say, it was a sugar feast for adults and kids alike!

The kids always have the best time playing with each other and they are always sad to leave. Poor Ava, she is the most sensitive and usually starts crying the minute we leave the driveway. We are so glad to have such close family, what a blessing!

Bubbles were part of the festivites, however, when Ava decided she was done blowing bubbles, she would just pour the bottle out rather than just put the lid back on!

(l-r) Ava, Kate, Renee, Sarah, Natalie, Zach and Brenna
(yes, Zach is driving a pink Barbie jeep...what's a boy to do when he is the only male on that side of the family except for his older cousin Drew (12)?? Thank goodness he is too young to care yet...but those days are numbered...)

Zach proudly chauffered Nee Nee around in the Jeep. You could hardly get her out of that thing without her kicking and screaming, she loved it. Ava is saying "is it my turn?"

Zach's cupcake creation

"Hands on" is Ava's kind of thing, so she had a blast with this!

We had brownies (Natalie and the real thing) along with cupcakes too :)
